There is no actual problem in that decision, mind. Your table, your rules, no one will tell you otherwise, and nothing like what you suggested can cause horrible problems or something like that.
As long as you keep in mind the potential issues that may arise (or not), that people above have mentioned, nothing should blindside you in your decisions (I assume you're the DM). If everyone at the table is satisfied, the rest is just support.
Captaincarrot1889 In case you haven't figured out how to unsubscribe to a thread yet, there is a box called "Tools" on the right side of the thread title. If you hover over it you should see the "Unsubscribe" option.

Opinions were requested and given and whilst some have been fairly assertive, nobody has been rude or obstructive.
This thread has some interesting discussion around potential homebrew rules regarding ASI and could well be useful for others to read in the future.
