So I was looking at making a human fighter, archery styled. And I thought that if I took the feat "Medium Armor Mastery" asap that could help me get the build I was going for. And so I looked at human as there is a variant that gives you a feat, but the website I was at said that the features in the variant only replaces the ability score gain. So instead of gaining +1 to all stats you choose a stat that you gain either +2 in or two different stats that each get a +1. But the regular human also gets an extra language. Which I was probably gonna give up even though I REALLY wanted it but if I can get both a feat and a prof in a tool of my choice AND get the extra language that would be awesome. So before making a character or getting stoked about him/her I wanted to make sure it is true. So I don't end up trying to make my DM have mercy upon me!

Thanks in advance! ^^
Even as a human variant, you get the extra language. Basically, as a variant you get the following:
-Choose 2 ability scores to increase by 1 each.
-1 extra language.
-1 skill proficiency of your choice.
-1 feat of your choice.
Just make sure your DM will allow human variants, not all do since not all are keen on players getting a feat at level 1.
Especially the Lucky feat.

Lucky is a great feat but Crossbow Expert, Polearm Master and Heavy Armor Master are way stronger at 1st level.
Thanks! And thanks for the tip! Would suck if I made this hold character around that feat and it turns out I'm not allowed to use it xD.
