Is there any official rule in the source books about lighting arrows on fire? I've been kind of house ruling it since I haven't found anything official.
There is no official "flame arrow" as equipment, there is a spell that will do it Flame Arrows. That said, crafting a flame arrow out of mundane materials isn't unheard of, so allowing a player to do so isn't too game breaking. Oil, cloth, and a source of flame, a minor penalty to the attack roll (-2) due to the arrow not being balanced/aerodynamic any more, and a minor (1d4) amount of fire damage on a successful hit.
