So if I have a character at level 20 with 15 put into beast master/ranger and 5 put into another spellcasting class that learns thunder step. When you reach 15 in beast master it gives you share spells which states "When you cast a spell targeting yourself, you can also affect your beast companion", thunder step states "You teleport yourself to an unoccupied space" keyword "yourself". You're casting the spell on yourself, so would both you and your beast companion teleport, deal damage and bring a plus one?

I think this spell is technically targeting the destination location.
As always, ask DM.
Yeah. The fact that it has a non-self range is a dead giveaway.
Misty Step would work, but rangers can't cast it.
