Assuming you mean Bracers of Defense, they do not have a specific material in their description/construction, so it depends on the case (and the DM). The most common material in previous editions was metal, and the image used in 5th seems to show a metallic wire structure, but I wouldn't blink twice if I found leather or even silken bracers of defense. Or even bracelets of defense.
I wonder why it is important, though? I can only think of the druid's limitations, but those are for armor and shields, the bracers being neither of those categories.
I don’t wanna give spoilers, but it was in Tomb of Annihilation...magic items not immune. More concerned that I lost my Arcane Focus, but we have a Forge Cleric among us so hopefully he can make me one!...

I'm not concerned about spoilers (for that particular adventure anyway) so I poked around. And I think I found the trap and it specifically doesn't effect magic items.
This should sound familiar (I omitted some details to avoid spoiling anything, but just in case):
Pushing the [omitted] button causes any nonmagical metal objects inside [omitted] (including objects carried or worn by a creature [omitted]) to corrode into worthless piles of rust. Objects partly made of metal are ruined as their metal components decay.
You still lose your focus if it was non-magical metal though.
Leather? Metal? Other?...

Maybe for the purposes of Heat Metal? Kind of neat that they left the description of the bracers themselves entirely up to the DM. Good call.
"Not all those who wander are lost"
All of my exposed metal rusted off at the end of last night’s session...
Even magic metal?
The D&D ones look like metal to me, though real bracers are usually not metal.
If you're dealing with a Rust Monster or an Ooze, pretty sure magical items are explicitly immune. What caused the metal on you to rust off?

Nope. Different trap...
Maybe so...
