I wanted to have a scene in a adventure where 2 sides are fighting in a battle each side having 50+ soldiers but I have know idea how to run this I do not want every member of this fight take a turn and as far as I know the dmg says nothing about this. Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's what I think is the important question: What are the PCs doing during this fracas? If they're not doing anything that's actually involved in the fight, you don't need to worry about mechanics, just flip a coin or decide who wins based on plot needs.
If you plan on them winning, give them a chance to show their skills, maybe have a couple close calls, and then they save the day. If they can actually lose the encounter match the party with a few notable ally NPCs against a challenging group of enemies. Use the large groups fighting it out as a narrative battle, while the partie's success or failure decides the outcome.
