If I go by the book, the Hex Warrior feature says "you can touch one weapon that you are proficient with and that lacks the two-handed property" nothing about range weapon like firearm or light crossbow. However, I get more confused as it goes even further saying "If you later gain the Pact of the Blade feature, this benefit extends to every pact weapon you conjure with that feature, (no matter the weapon's type.)" The class is literally named HEXBLADE and if you want to use Pact of the Blade...
so my question repeats Can the hexblade warrior ability work on a firearm or light crossbow ?

So, I assume we are talking Hand Crossbow and Pistols - being ranged weapons that lack the two-handed property. Most other ranged weapons are two-handed, so can never benefit from Hex Warrior Charisma usage. Yes, you can use the Hex Warrior feature with those one-handed ranged weapons.
Once you take Pact of the Blade you still have a problem, in that the summoned weapon must be melee - so not a pistol/crossbow. You could operate with a Hex Warrior pistol in one hand and a Pact Blade sword in the other (some juggling required to reload). Improved Pact Weapon invocation doesn't really help with this as it still can't summon a one-handed ranged weapon.
One plan would be to urgently search for a magical hand crossbow or pistol (indicate this desire to your DM). A magic weapon of any kind can be made into your Pact Weapon. You then have your Hex Warrior Pact Weapon Charisma hand crossbow. You would also then be free then to link your Hex Warrior feature to a second weapon (of any sort) since the pact weapon is covered by default. Your Pact pistol can then be further powered up with the relevant invocations.
The answer is yes, but only if you 1) take Pact of the Blade at 3rd level and then 2) take the "Improved Pact Weapon" invocation, which lets you summon a shortbow, longbow, light crossbow, or heavy crossbow as your pact weapon. (It also makes all your pact weapons +1 magic weapons and lets you use the pact weapon as your arcane focus.)
I'd rule that if you're in a campaign where firearms exist, improved pact weapon would extend to firearms, but your DM may vary.
Whenever you finish a long rest, you can touch one weapon that you are proficient with and that lacks the two-handed property.
There is no requirement for it to be a melee weapon or a ranged weapon.
Not a musket or a light or heavy crossbow, however, as those have the two-handed property (which I originally confused for the heavy property, thanks to ClementP who spotted my mistake).
Note that a Hex Warrior weapon has one and only one feature - you can use Charisma for attack and damage rolls. You can't summon a Hex Warrior weapon. No invocations apply to a Hex Warrior weapon.

The benefits of hex weapon dies extend to your pact weapon, which can have invocations apply to it. That is what other comments are refering to.
So base hex weapon: hand crossbows and pistols okay. Pact of blade, improved pact weapon: shortbow, longbow, light and heavy crossbows okay.

thank you so much !!!

A hand crossbow and a pistol are both OK.

We're entering homebrew territory, but I can't see a musket lacking the two-handed trait.

Oops, my mistake. I've edited my post above.
