So not sure if this works cause I am iffy on some rulings but here it goes.
Eldritch knight with spear master and PAM. casts thunderwave to push enemy back 10ft. then uses bonus action to extend spear range by extra 5ft. Does this trigger an OA at anytime? During turn or when enemy starts their turn?
And if not can EK's extra attack be used to hit the enemy instead? Cause I thought I heard that you can't use extra attacks unless your first action is an attack.
Ok thought so just wanted to be sure. I figued action surge would work. Just been trying to think of more uses for the the spear mastery's reach bump besides just getting 35ft. To hit with movement.
I also thought thunderwave said it pushed up to 10ft. But it doesn't so it wouldn't have put them where I wanted in the first place.
Difficult to use in a dungeon environment. If you have initiative you can engage at 10 feet and keep your target there. You can also ready an attack for when an opponent enters your range.

No. Attacks of Opportunity don't trigger on involuntary movement.
For the sake of clarity, you don't trigger an opportunity attack if something moves you without using your movement, action or reaction. Whether the movement is voluntary has nothing to do with it. A spell like Dissonant Whispers or Command can force you to move against your will and still provoke an attack.
You can also ready an attack for when an opponent enters your range.
Are you sure? I thought it said using your bonus action it only extends your reach till the end of your turn. Does that still carry over into the opponents turn?
Sometimes you want to get the jump on a foe or wait for a particular circumstance before you act. To do so, you can take the Ready action on your turn, which lets you act using your reaction before the start of your next turn.
First, you decide what perceivable circumstance will trigger your reaction. Then, you choose the action you will take in response to that trigger, or you choose to move up to your speed in response to it. Examples include "If the cultist steps on the trapdoor, I'll pull the lever that opens it," and "If the goblin steps next to me, I move away."

No. Casting your spell is your action. Unless you burn Action Surge or are Hasted.

Thunderwave does say it can push enemies 10 feet. So long as they fail their save.

That's kind of what I meant, but appreciate the clarity =)
