Howdy folks, I'm currently playing a teifling Paladin and I am thinking of dualclassing into barbarian. My thoughts are that while a Paladins divine smite uses a spell slot it is not a spell so if I take 2 levels of barbarian I should be able to rage/reckless and add smite to my attacks. What do y'all think?
You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
I was so looking forward to Conquest Paladin/Spirit Totem Barb, HAM, and Armor of Agathys shenanigans until I saw that Rage and HAM were mutually exclusive. Had to start looking for a substitute for either HAM or barb.
I am currently sitting on a wish I got from the deck of many things. I might be able to ignore the fact that I am wearing HAM.
Good luck with that. Either way, this is no longer a question for Rules & Game Mechanics.

You can smite while raging.
But you can't benefit from Rage in heavy armor.
