Cantrips scale with character level, not class level. Spells scale with the spell slot used to cast them.
PHB errata: "Spells Known and Prepared (p. 164). A new paragraph appears at the end of this subsection: “If a cantrip of yours increases in power at higher levels, the increase is based on your character level, not your level in a particular class.”
With feats you can have cantrips while being a level 0 spellcaster. In that situation, if they didn't scale off character level, they wouldn't scale at all.

I got a Question about how the levels for cantrips on a multiclassing character.
Let say I have this character https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/ae3erdion/characters/16915741
I want to use a cantrip. Do it use total level (20) or use the level of the class (rogue4, wizard16)?
Cantrips increase their damage when you reach level X, not when your class reaches level X. Hope that helps. =)
so It dont matter what level class you are. What it matters is the total level of the character. Thanks
