Last night my GM gave my character a moonblade. My character is a drow warlock of the fiend and pact of the chain following a lawfully evil alignment. She is very protective of her culture and is still peed that she was exiled from the underdark. She obtained the moonblade as a reward from Lolth who put her through a trial after obtaining her soul back from the devil who owned it.
My question is. Would it be possible for my warlock to attune herself to the moonblade and use it?
"requires attunement by a elf or half-elf of neutral good alignment"
However, there are two ways I can see this going:
1. your GM allows you to attune to the Moonblade, as it was given to you by your deity as a reward. Lolth magically altered this one for you to taunt the surface elves with it.
2. Lolth gave that cursed blade to you as a test. If you are trying to find a way to attune to it, she will cast you out of favor and has you hunted down or turns you into a drider.
Drow do count as Elves--"Elf (Drow)"--for the purposes of race-gated features, so you're fine on that front. What is going to prevent you from (by RAW) attuning to a Moonblade is your alignment. Either you need to work toward changing your alignment (if you really care about the sword more), your DM homebrews/waves the requirement, you find a better use for the sword (sell, give to another PC, plot, etc.), or just give up on it.
Bottom line: RAW, you can't use it unless your alignment shifts.

You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.

Technically, no.

Good luck ;)

Two things are at play here: race & alignment.

Or, perhaps your GM just forgot to mention this is a unique moonblade that allows attunement by a lawful evil character? It's worth a shot.
I can't see Lolth giving a Moonblade. It's Lolth so there must be a catch. Either that, or it's some shadowy version.

I would ask the DM and see if they would change the propeties of the blade otherwise I guess sell it or give it to another party member lol.

Yeah I guess it is something I will need to talk to her about.
Call it an eclipsed moonblade, keep the stats, and rewrite the lore to fit your needs.

I spoke with the GM and its all part of Lloths plan for my characters personal story arch.
