My current character is an Aloii, so i wanted to do some research on how an Aloii would behave and what special abilities I would get, but theres a problem. After googling Aloii dnd, there's only one page that comes up that's relevant to what i'm looking for. I was wondering what book the Aloii race is from. My DM also said that the Aloii race is used for speed-running. I was wondering if this is true or not
I'm kind of confused to what "speed runs" are in a D&D context. Obviously in a video game context it's to complete the game as quickly as possible. I'm not sure what that would mean in this instance.
“It is a better world. A place where we are responsible for our actions, where we can be kind to one another because we want to and because it is the right thing to do instead of being frightened into behaving by the threat of divine punishment.” ― Oramis, Eldest by Christopher Paolini.
That seems, idk... not fun (to me at least)? I mean, outside of speeding up combat with average dice rolls for damage, I'm not sure how you could speed anything else up. Unless it's just a hack and slash/murder hobo game, which I know a lot of people are into, so I'm not questioning that.
I'm also not sure how they would be any better than any other race at doing it if this is the race WaffleMage was talking about. I mean, outside of being able to squeeze through gaps that others couldn't.

They're not from a published D&D book - a google search looks like it's someone's personal homebrew that they posted on dandwiki.
If you are playing an Aloii character, you must have rules from somewhere - did your DM provide them?
Here's a fairly comprehensive list of published races:

I've heard of D&D speedruns, usually in reference to AL modules at conventions.
