I was about to say that only the +max effect runs for the duration of the spell, so that's the only part that doesn't stack... but I just realized that both halves of Aid are "for the duration." Meaning, you take 5 damage when it wears off, never noticed that!
Probably because I've never actually see anyone cast Aid.
Looking at the aid spell more, I was hoping for clarification.
1: can it revive a character at 0 hp?
2: does it stack?
1. Interesting point, it increases max hp and current hp by 5, so yes.
2. No same spell effect cannot stack. PHB 205

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
A Divine Soul sorcerer casting Aid using the Extended Spell metamagic and highest level slots right before a long rest is pretty powerful though.
