I know that alignment in D&D is kind of bs at this point but I'm creating a homebrew monster that carves the faces off of people. However, it doesn't do it out of malicious intent or to hurt humans, it simply has an interest in the beauty of human faces and perceives them as paintings, beautiful collectible art pieces. With all that said, I'm curious what alignment this creature would have. I was thinking neutral or lawful neutral but I'm really not sure.
Umm... Maybe chaotic neutral or neutral evil. But if it "simply has an interest in the beauty of human faces and perceives them as paintings, beautiful collectible art pieces." Then it would probably have to be self aware enough to be aligned since it could perceive things as beautiful.

Neutral evil. It carves the faces off of people.
Or you could go with "unaligned", like the game classifies beasts and animals.
