i have a question about bonus action as a monk if i want to do shadow step i need to use a bonus action ... so when i teleport in the shadow within 5 feet of my ennemy i have advantage on my first melee attack before the end of my turn... if i do so i cant use another bonus action to make unarmed strike since i can only use 1 bonus action by turn ...meaning i teleport then only make 1 attack with advantage then thats it ? but can i use Flurry of Blows to get another bonus action for 2 unarmed strike since i have to pay 1 ki point for it ? or shadow step is cool but dont allow me to maximize any good combination for a good attack while i'm teleporting ....?
i also have another question ... if i have 2 enemy in 5 feets of me can i attack one then use my bonus action to attack a different target ? or do i have to give all my attack i have on the same target ?Because from what i understand lots of player who play monk get mobility then dont get opportunity attack and move around and hit multiple target then fall back i guess they use flurry of blows to hit a first target then move and make bonus action to attack another one then move again then make the 2nd bonus action to attack another target then go away from combat ... is that right ?
and if i have 2 attack by turn and want to make 2 flurry of blows ... mean i will have to use 2 bonus action one for each fluray of blows to get 6 attack in my turn
But since we arent supposed to use more then 1 action bonus by turn i'm not sure anymore if its possible or not because i only see in the player handbook that we are limited to only one bonus action by turn cant find any rules or exception about that
You can only have one bonus action per turn. Shadow Step is most useful for its incredible movement perks, though it's also great for Rogue/Monks. Monks get Extra Attack at level 5, before they get Shadow Step. The advantage only applies to the first attack afterward anyway.
Your second paragraph is hard to parse, but you can break up your attacks any way you want. You can do Attack -> move 10' -> Extra Attack -> move 10' -> Bonus Action Attack against three separate targets, for instance. The only restriction is that you may soak attacks of opportunity for movement if you're not a Drunken Master or using Disengage.
Again, you can't do more than one bonus action per turn. Four attacks is already a lot.
thanks that is pretty much answer my question ... only one bonus action so i cant combine shadow step + flurry of blows on the same turn ...
and if i use flurry of blows i get my attack + use my bonus action to get 2 unarmed strike, i could do my 3 hits on 3 different target and if i have the feat mobility i could do.. move strike move strike move strike without attack of opportunity agains me ...
The King is dead on with his explanation. Bonus actions and Reactions take just a bit to get used to.
