XD it's always the anime backstory lol. Honestly my character was definitely one of those "main character" characters, but so was everyone else's character so we were basically an anime cast with OP abilities rolling up to the crime scene to kill like 3 cultists lol

My first character was a Fire Genasi. Back then I had 0 idea about D&D classes, so I was looking through the DandD wiki, without knowing that 99% of it was homebrew. (I only knew D&D from watching Critical Role back then) The text of the Arcane Warrior sounded like what I had in mind, so I showed it to my then DM, but he didn't want to use homebrew (he thought I wanted to be a mage in heavy armor or something alike). I told him that I'm fine with no homebrew classes, I just wanted to play a mage who can craft jewelry, so he suggested I try the then still UA Artificer.
We only played one game (we couldn't find another time that fit everyone, so after 1 year of no response in that Discord I left) but I wasn't happy with the class at all.
One day I want to recreate him, not sure if as a Fire Genasi, or High Elf, but when I do, I'll make him a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer with a background as a Jeweler.

I made her when I was 7 and she had a snow leopard familiar but I honestly don't remember much? Honestly im just surprised my dad let me play when I was 7.
Oh, awesome! I always have had a bit of a soft spot for druids for some reason, I don't really play them but something about their flavor is just super interesting.
Also, it's super cool that you've been playing since you were 7! I had to reread your post to make sure I hadn't read it wrong. That's honestly really cool!
I've been playing dnd for so long haha,, I used to love playing the board games as well, especially wrath of ashardalon. My dad would get mad at me for playing with the minis
That's awesome! Honestly wished I'd started playing sooner haha. I probably would have if I hadn't had a few sucky friends who discouraged me from doing it because it was nerdy :\
I feel that. Telling your friends that you like to roleplay as fictional characters in your free time is not ideal.
Unless, of course, your friends are the ones who do it with you.
My first character is Bree High-Hill. I am still playing with her actually! (Lost Mines Of Phandelver) She is a lightfoot halfling rogue. Her personality is probably my favorite part about playing her simply because I based her personality off of mine, except Bree tends to be more... action-y than I am. Also, Bree has a bit of a serious obsession with gold, which can be a very funny obsession at times. (Me begging the DM to let me sell almost everything I have to get more gold even though I already have over 150 gp.)

True, but its kind of a hit or miss with that. The best thing to to is to slowly brainwash them into playing with you by getting them hooked on LoDR and Critical Role tbh

I have a tactic for you (I don't remember LMoP perfectly so this might not work). Be sure to get your DM's approval on this beforehand. So, what you do is you buy up all of one resource in the town. Make sure it's something that the town needs (food, clothes, etc.), and that it's an isolated town. Then, go to a larger city that has more of that resource and buy as much of it as you can. Then, sell the resource to the most wealthy shop in town for slightly over the base price. Be sure to sell them the resources that you bought from them and from the city. There should be a huge overflow in the shop, with way too much of the resource. Offer to take some of it off their hands for slightly less than the price that you sold it to them for. Be sure to buy any new resources of that kind that are being made or brought to the town. Then, when there's almost none left, sell way too much to the shop. Continue and repeat until the town is broke. Then, move on.

I think I've told this story somewhere on this forum before, but it's not particularly interesting, so I might as well share it again.
I was... I think 8 or 9 the first time my brothers and I tried to play D&D. We loved games like Finaly Fantasy or Secret of Mana and wanted to try out this game we'd heard so much about. We uh... weren't patient enough to understand the game. We never really understood combat, and we reused the same map that came in our big red box over and over again. We mostly just kind of made up our own rules and no characters really had any personality. My first character was a human thief named Back Stab. He had an evil twin brother named Front Stab. That's the most interesting fact about Back Stab.
My first character was a super stereotypical wood elf ranger named Xorian Aeravel that got killed off after a few sessions (which I'm thankful for, actually, since my next character was much better).
JSKJFH I feel that lmao,, My freshman year of high school I made my super edgy orphan rogue and I hate it so much
Yeah, my next character after that was an orphan who grew up in the city that our party was trying to destroy (we were playing evil characters). He was basically a pyromaniac wizard who was oddly an insanely good tactician and battle commander. He came up with the craziest plans but somehow managed to pull them off through a combination of skill and good dice rolls.

I'm pretty sure mine was just a Halfling Fighter named Finnan Thorngage. He went on and slew an ancient Black Dragon once I think. He was pretty cautiously optimistic if you know what I mean but generally pretty happy. He was also pretty stubborn but other than that he was pretty fun. I enjoyed playing as him because Finnan's natural happiness made me a little bit more happy :)

Okay, here's one of his weapons that he came up with:
Fragment Bomb
Make a 5 foot diameter hollow sphere out of a soft but firm metal. Leave a small hole in the top.
Fill the sphere with explosives, Molotov cocktails, and shrapnel.
Fill in the hole in the top.
Load onto a catapult and use it against enemies (groups of enemies without cover for the most damage).
