I've seen the name Dahlver-Nar show up in Curse of Strahd and Tasha's Cauldron (as a dark vestige and the namesake of a magic item respectively), both time associated with teeth. I've looked around to find where the guy originally comes from, but I can't seem to find it. Did he appear in earlier editions, or is he original from 5th edition?
i have no idea the only information i could find is extremely scattered by mentions several things we have only seen in passing in 5e so it appears they may have been from earlier editions

If I remember correctly, the teeth of Dahlver- Nar first appeared in the 1e DMG.

Man, that spell was brutal in AD&D.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
It completely shut down spellcasters who got caught in it.
