I'm designing a longsword for my main character. Nothing magical but, I was wondering what is the hardest metal in D&D lore?

adamantine non-magic but items made from it are considered magic items.their not very powerful but weapons made from it are good for breaking items and are extremely hard to break.armor made from it ignores crits.

Yes, adamantine is the hardest metal in D&D. However, I have a slight modification to what stuffattackknightofrandom said:
Adamantine weapons are not magical. For that matter armor made from adamantine *can* be nonmagical (and use the same stats as regular armor), or other types of armor can be made of adamantine. However, the most common type of armor made from adamantine is indeed adamantine armor, which is so named because it can be considered "generic" magical adamantine armor.
For that matter, Elven Chain armor is usually made of mithral (at least in the Forgotten Realms), even though it is not mithral armor

So far this session, I have killed three pets, four teammates, and only hit the enemy once, and my fire bolt didn't work against a creature immune to fire. Trust me, you NEVER want to borrow my character or my dice.
