Markov stares out of the window at the night sky, lost in his own thoughts he barely takes in the view. The sky ship moves silently through the aurora, shrouded in colour and light thousands of feet above the farmlands of Oasarre. It will soon be at its destination and Markov knows his time to prepare is running shorter with each passing moment. He has had to pull in every favour he has ever earned and bargain for more he hadn’t to be able to present his life’s work at the Solstarium, but an audience with the Council of Echoes is never easily procured. If they listen it will be worth it, they have to listen to him, before it’s too late, the planet’s future depends on it. His data is clear, the magics are running thin, too long have they been used in excess rather than need. His theories that the sources of magic are finite have never been popular with the scholars, but he has the proof and if he cannot convince the council to take in his words then it is already too late, the planet will not be forgiving of its spoilt children.

Thousands of miles above the ground aether trawlers float slowly along, collecting and refining the fuel that powers the land below. A fleet gun boat keeps watch as the trawler make easy prey for the those who chose to collect it from their burning wrecks. Hidden in a cloud bank near by captain Jack checks the wind for the last time before his attack, The aether he captures on this raid could keep his ship afloat for the next year once he pays of his backers.
aether is the life blood of Current society. Condensed mana taken from the skys where magic is more plentiful it's toxic for most races but is able to hold an incredible amount of power. After magic became much harder to acquire on the ground people looked to the sky to power their world and so airships took flight to gather the power needed from the untapped corners of the world.
The power of aether is great and tales of sky captains and pirates fill the Imagination but older sailors know of other tales, horrific burns caused by aether tanks leaking, the growing boldness of pirates and the desperation of fleet captain who try to make ends meet for another voyage.
heavier then air craft are in use. They are regarded as noisy, dangerous and inefficient but their speed is something to be amazed at. Some forward thinking ships have added hangers for scout planes. Attack planes has been regarded as a useless idea but for those working out side the law the speed and weapons of a plane have resulted in surprising victory's.
Aether is found more plentiful and in higher consecrations the higher you go and so to take advantage of that ships know as Skybreakers have been created to collect it. Their are rumors that the highest of them have gone so high that the sky faded to black and the stars we seen despite the day. To do this Skybreaker need many improvements such as sealed cabins, tanked oxygen and suits for the crew. To add to the dangers up there some creatures have been able to use Aether, some can make lightning bolts, others spew acid it has been rumored that some can hijack your mind and send crew and ship willingly into it's maw. Aether from up their is regarded as worth more then other Aether and the crews of Skybreaker get paid more then twice normal.
I will make the baseline and you help with making the rest
