I have joined a second campaign, so now I have two characters, and I am curious what class you think my second character based upon a letter they have written to their sister.
The letter.
--------
Dear Sister,
I hope my correspondence finds you well.My search for the grave robbers who stole our mother's book of shadows has brought me to a wretched place.
Only last night, I was sitting in a dark, cramped room, in what I am told passes for an inn, which has become my temporary quarters, and there was a group of boors outside the window puffing away on their vile intoxicating weed. They were not even enjoying the mediocre ale. They were merely sitting there puffing their monstrously evil and disgusting poisons through my tiny window. When I poked my head out to the tell then to be in their way, they giggled at me and gyrated their peculiar parts in an overly lustful fashion, like some fairy, before returning to their wicked pastime.
Not only did I find such actions heinously disgusting, but it spoiled what little view there was of the puss ridden street below.
The louts were so riddled with mephistophelean narcissism that In their indignity, they did not even notice how pestiferously foul they were towards their fellow man by forcefully assaulting the lungs of myself and any passersby with the unwanted emanations of their grimy perversion.
Dear sister, it made me want to hurl myself at them with such ferocity as not seen before or since, but I remember your words and calmed my righteous rage.
Despite not engaging the vile cretins, one could still say that there was a special place in Hell for people like them, but so grievously malign are they that even the Devil himself would refuse their greeting.
What laws are needed to curtail the folly of those who bathe in the habitual fumes of dependence more frequently than warmongers perpetuate the cancerous cud of innocent tongues, I do not know. Still, I know this - for the good of all humanity and to save those who are the future of our race from falling into the abysmal pits of addiction, action is needed.
Our very streets writhe with pestilence, and we must fight back against this flood of evil before it overwhelms us all.
Like the surgeon cutting out infected tissue to save his patient's life, we need to remove those cancerous lumps, those undesirables, those unwanted smears of society before they have a chance to worm their way into the consciousness of our youth; lowering the moral fibre of the world, and dragging us further down the path to ultimate self-annihilation.
In other news, I have become acquainted with several travellers who claim they know these parts well and who I believe can assist me in my search.Although I initially thought them to be of questionable character, they have proven themselves trustworthy over the few days since our first meeting.
Have no fear; I will find those responsible for stealing from our mother's grave and make them pay for their crimes.
Be well, dear sister.
Your ever-loving brother,
Raz.

So what class do you think this character is? Also, what kind of person do you think they sound like, based upon the letter, and where might have they originated?
I am looking forward to reading your replies.

This describes a personality, not a character class. Classes are just packages of game mechanics, and any personality can be applied to any of those packages. Some may fit more easily than others, but any of them can work.

I mainly was trying to find out what others thought of my character to see if I had gotten his personality right for the class I had chosen.
I was also curious what people thought of him, in general, to see if I was on the right track for how I wanted to play him.
I have an idea of what I want for his class, subclass, background and personality, but rather than making him into the typical character; I want to show who and what he is through his speech patterns and the way he reacts and interacts with the world and the other PCs in his party.
I also want that to be a reflection of the party.
As in, he was suspicious of these people at first; they didn't meet his exacting moral standards, but over the short time he has known them, he has primarily changed his mind, as they have shown him they are trustworthy companions of good character. People he is willing to work with and no doubt will eventually become friends with as well.
He has a goal of his own, but his hatred of wrongdoers will also see him stand against the world's evils. Although he was poorly motivated to do so until his mothers grave was desecrated and her possession stolen. Now a rage burns in his soul like a righteous fire that will explode out of him, burning all around him if he doesn't keep it under control.
He struggles every day with his desire to serve the greater good at any cost and the realities of his actions and how they affect not only the world around him but the people who He considers friends and those he loves. His sister, his party and so on.
Also, his letters to his sister is a thing I'm going with. I decided to write a new letter to her every few sessions and physically write the letter, put it in an envelope, stamp it and send it to my DM. The DM can then respond as my characters sister and send her letter to me.
So we have this communication between my character and his sister. She's not just mentioned in a backstory or something, but she exists; she's there in the background as an actual NPC.
Yeah, he's a Paladin who has taken an Oath of Vengeance and sworn to punish those guilty of defiling his mothers grave and stealing her Book of Shadows - something that was given to her by her patron and one-time lover, and an object that was extremely precious to her while she was alive.
He is also a Protector Aasimar for his race. His soul burns with celestial light.
His mother was a Celestial Warlock, but not an Aasimar herself, just a standard human.
His sister is also an Aasimar - they were born twins. Both possess a part of their father's soul, and that fragment of celestial power connects them both across vast distances of space. (Not something that has any mechanical benefits - he can sense how his sister is feeling, whether she's happy or sad or whatever, but it doesn't give the character any in-game benefits other than being a roleplay thing.)
Because they are connected, his sister's feelings affect his mood, even though she's not with him on his quest. It's nothing but roleplay, though.
His sister has gone down a different; wanting to become like her mother; she attempted to summon her father to make a pact with him. When that failed, she sought to learn more about her celestial heritage to find a way to contact her father—resulting in her becoming an apprentice to a Divination Wizard.
Her apprenticeship is the reason she couldn't join her brother to retrieve the items stolen from their mothers grave.
The same fire that burns within him also burns within her, but with the help of her master, she has learned to control it through meditation and her work, as well as the mask that was given to her by her master that helps her to focus her thoughts and shut out the evil that makes her soul burn.
Her control has led to an epiphany for her, and she has become wise as a result.
The character still struggles to contain the fire of his soul, but his connection to his sister allows him to feel her calm emotions. With that connection and his dedication to his Oath, he manages to contain the raging dragon within his soul that commands him to destroy all evil, no matter the cost.
Some days are better than others. Some days he is calm and collected, rational and articulate, and others, like when he gets excited about the prospect of getting close to finding those whom he hunts, his true nature peeks through as the fire in his soul burns with such ferocity that it can't fully be contained.
Those are the days he has to be extra careful, extra vigilant because if he loses control, even for a moment, his true nature will burst forth, burning him and all those around him.
I hope my ideas for this character make sense to you.

I thought Paladin with the Noble background, particularly because of the vocabulary and reasons for looking down on others just trying to blow off some steam, -or- some type of Bard accustomed to life in the city provided at the expense of others where he enjoyed finer things in life and had a certain vocabulary for insulting others; a kind of insult that goes over many people's heads. Other possibilities could be a caster that is very uncomfortable in a dreary town; a Wizard with a big vocabulary from the city or a Druid that would rather not live "indoors". Fighters, Rangers, Barbarians would have just gone down there and busted some heads and then wrote their sister about that. A rogue would have slipped them some poison in their weed in a disguised act of comradery. A Cleric may have found them pitiable but not disgusting in the same fashion.

Wizard like his Mom, or perhaps a Paladin, but they're usually for something instead of just being against war/alcohol/undesirables. Also rich, pompous, and dangerously close to going on a killing spree to "cleanse the world of evil." Looks fun.
