I’ve recently been reading Van Richtens Guide To Ravenloft and something came to my attention which was that Tepest a folk horror domain had a lot of similarities such as the Avanc a river beast granted this was probably intended but something I was more interested in is how in the sidebar for creating characters it doesn’t say what languages characters may take on inspiration from. Clarification would be nice although the answer seems fairly obvious.

I had a stillborn campaign plot concept where Pharika and Purphoros worked together to create "The Metal Sickness" to contest frustrations Purphoros had with the fragility of organic life, and how slowly it changed. The shorthand description I had of it was Ancient Greek Resident Evil, and I think isolating the event into a Domain of Dread solves a lot of what I want looking forward to, which was trying to work out the scale of the problem https://19216811.cam/https://1921681001.id/.
Now I can say it happened, the Dark Powers set it and the Darklord apart, and the strange malleable nature of time and space in Theros took care of the rest. Now its always at the coolest stage, not having to build up to it, and it inspired me to think of a mortal villain instead of "the gods futzed around, clean it up"

I think Tepest is inspired by Scottish folklore more than Welsh, but I’m not 100% sure.
I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
