I have been playing D&D for nearly 50 years now. I have played in Mystara, Greyhawk, and Forgotten Realms. Although I have not played there, I have read some of the Dragonlance books. For story and lore content, what is your favorite D&D Campaign setting?
It has to be Forgotten Realms. It's, in my opinion, the most complete, with the deepest lore and with the best opportunities to set an interesting campaign.
I also like Eberron and Greyhawk, don't get me wrong, but Forgotten Realms is top tier. I also think it has a lot of wasted potential. They should try to create new campaigns outside Faerûn, showing other places that would expand the lore of Toril.
Dragonlance is my favorite. It has strong thematic coherence, and (at least in its traditional permutations) avoids the kitchen sink problems that plague more popular settings. The novels are a blast, too, but since we’re talking about game settings, I figured I’d focus on that.
Ravenloft and Dark Sun are grim yet great but my favourite is Eberron. I love the ubiquitous magitech, the rival Houses, the varied evils just beyond thin barriers, the varied mortal evils hiding behind Houses and religions, Warforged a d the mystery of the Mournland... It's the next evolution of the classic DnD settings if they survive the magitech singularity.

Ebberon is my favorite take on guild wars and the development of a magic culture beyond Serfdom.

I forgot to include Ravenloft. If you like Ravenloft best, post a reply saying so and vote other. Thanks.
I love homebrew worlds, they're also so unique and interesting.
