In the middle of the _____ desert there is an underground opera house run by two dragons: a silver and a blue dragon. Though it seems unlikely these to dragons had built and had been running the theater for almost 200 years. The reason for these two dragons not showing their species typical hatred of the other is within the name of the theater.
The Pendent in question in an enchanted item which allows its holder to make any person, sentient creature, or sentient item, their ally. It was created by a kobold wizard. Wished to not only end the war that had made trade impossible between the nations of _____ and _____, but halt the countless kobold deaths on both sides. The two parties in this war where not the countries, but said a silver and blue dragon (and their kobold armies). The silver dragon controlled the mountain that created the desert and therefore said it was his right to the desert. The blue dragon (at the same time) decided to try and take the mountain pass so she could gather more treasure. To end the war they created The Pendent of Treaties.
The theater was started by a bronze dragon (whose skeleton can be found in the treasure hoard of the blue dragon). The cave is pretty much a standard copper dragon lair, with one main difference. Rather than having a conversation hall, the copper dragon created a grand theater so they (and a small number of guest) could watch performances. The blue dragon had no interest in the theater or the hall of art work, and simply moved into the foyer, sleeping hall, and storage treasure room.
When the war ended, the silver dragon asked to see the opera house (mostly to claim the works of art which the copper dragon had collected). The silver dragon released that both could make treasure off of restarting the theater. Most adventurers who now vist the theater may never learn that a both a silver and blue dragon who live there, instead meeting a odd moon elf and wonder about the occasionally shaking in the caverns (in a area which rarely receives earthquakes).
Interesting backstory for set piece. Formerly opposing dragons as patrons of the arts. Hopefully, they can occasionally get along well enough to fund some plot-relevant productions at this Treaty Theater.
This sounds super interesting! Since Blue Dragons covet valuable and talented creatures for it's service, it could be fun to have performers of exceptional ability at the theatre approached by the blue in disguise looking to employ them just for the status. Could be a way to get some good people into an awkward but fun situations.
