TLDR: Lolth was killed on the Sword Coast and sent back to the Demonweb. How long does it take her to reform there? I know in the monster manual demons reform instantly but is that true for demon gods and demon lords? I have no idea personally but if someone does know I would really appreciate an answer and source in the lore.
I am running a game where the party is now level 19 and just killed Lolth on the Sword Coast. She underestimated the group, tried to plane shift away, was counterspelled and then the druid (who was shape changed into an adult gold dragon) bit her and that took her over 885 HP of damage. Now the group wants to rally all of their allies from Gauntlgrym, Waterdeep, Order of the Gauntlet, redeemed Zariel, Bahamut, Harpers, Elistraee and some others I'm forgetting to mount a full scale incursion into the Demonweb pits to kill Lolth for a longer period of time and kill a bunch of demons and then get the hell out once the objectives are completed. (I have multiple military veterans as players, they understand the concept of "get in, get out", having multiple methods of exfiltration and that mission creep sucks).
Some background for anyone curious:
They also did content from Waterdeep Dragon Heist, Lost Mines of Phandelver(they adopted some children who later wanted to be adventurers like them and they wanted to run them the now teenagers through that adventure with the PC's as instructors making sure they learn and survive), Tyranny of Dragons and Descent into Avernus. The group has done a good job of maintaining good relationships with all of the neutral to good factions and multiple gods. They have also destroyed the Hand and Eye of Vecna, destroyed the Book of Vile Darkness with Zariel who was redeemed about 4 days before she stabbed the book repeatedly to destroy it and then teleported onto Tiamat's back as she was fighting Bahamut in Avernus where they did half the damage to Tiamat while Bahamut did the other half.(no leadership in Avernus means no limits on the gate spell in Avernus). They are living legends who have done a lot to help the Sword Coast and a lot of groups feel like they the party favors that the party is now going to call in. Also the Lolth stuff is coming from me just dropping the party into the storyline of the most recent 2 Drizzt books(third one is not out yet so I had to just guess certain plot elements) and seeing how the party wants to help out. I had to mess around with the timeline and having Laeral instead of Neverember in charge of Waterdeep made it much easier to neutralize the Margasters(sp?) but overall I didn't have to make that many adjustments.
Using the shapechange spell to turn into a CR17 adult gold dragon. It's a concentration spell so it can be dispelled and if hit hard enough concentration ends.
I think this is one of those times I would advise ignoring whatever the "offical" rules say.
Sounds like this might be a cap on an awesome campaign, so make a ruling. You could rule immediately, which might rush your players or else risk her preparing an ambush. Or it takes so long the players are ready to surround and pound her when she does. Somewhere inbetween sounds best.
You know your players, try and figure out what time timeframe has the best chance to make the fight optimal.

How can your druid turn into an ancient gold dragon?!?!? The most they can turn into is Cr 6 and only if they're moon druids. So that's a bit op.
