well it seems you should answer at least some of those questions:
- Why did he flee from the underdark? Did his family flee with him or did he flee his family? did he flee from some monster? - Why did he style himself like that? How did he manage to fit in (since in most lore Drow aren't exactly welcome in "normal" comunities) - How about adding something to how he learned/got his Class?
Also, this is a world where cowboys exist/existed. Do they still exist and he's blending in? If so, are they cowboys as we know them in like the Hollywood mythos, or like the actual guys who drove cattle from one area to another? Are they relics of a past era that mostly don't exist anymore like in our world, and by dressing up as one of the character showing himself to be out of touch with the surface world, or are they contemporary?
Well, the cowboy affectation is by miles the weirdest part of this, so let's start there and say that for long years in the Underdark, Jzz'vxx'le would read forbidden dime novels that he acquired from dwarven traders. He would read about flat endless prairies; oceans of tall grass stretching as far as the eye could see; riding a horse with the wind in your hair; looking up at the stars at night; living with a fraternity of other males where you could fart without being fed to spiders, etc etc. All stuff no drow ever experiences.
No drow who survived into their teens would be interested in a gunfight. They try and kill each other every day. They would all actively root for the ambusher and the backshooter, because those are the only guys with any sense. But not our hero. The idea of standing at one end of a street at high noon (in the painful crucible of sunlight at its harshest) and staring into the face of your enemy and having a fair fight, that just appeals to this weirdo.
Maybe his favorite stories are about some daring and resourceful masked rider who brings justice to a lawless land and whom the peasants call El Escorpion! Maybe he just wants to be a gay caballero, playing a guitar and singing a song.
The next question is what made him leave? Did someone discover his hidden stash of westerns and he realized he'd be accused of thoughtcrime and fed to the spiders if he didn't run? Did he meet a new slave who had been a cowboy and help him escape (and the guy now serves as his somewhat-faithful comic relief sidekick)?

Please do. While I was writing, I actually started liking the character I was imagining. I'd love to know he's out there ridin' the range somewhere.
