Here is the skinny. I'm playing a chaotic good Aasimar Hexblade Warlock / Rogue (level 9: 8 Warlock, 1 Rogue). She is in a party of five, yet the two strongest members of her party (including her best friend) were just kidnapped by Lolth (long story) who wants to corrupt them into servitors. To make matters worse, we are all political fugitives and right after our two strongest party members were kidnapped we were attacked by the land's most notorious bounty hunter - a level 20, magically decked out Aarakocran Way of the Sun Soul monk. We are all level 9, and besides my character we have a Goliath Bear Totem Barbarian and a Kenku Rogue Inquisitive / Monk Kensai hybrid. Our Monk / Rogue was knocked out fairly quickly and is bleeding out, our Barbarian is at 19 health. I am sitting at 44 health, but only because I have radiant resistance. The only spell I have left is Thunderstep inside of a spell gem. The bounty hunter wants to take us alive, but my character has been previously imprisoned and is very devoted to ideals of freedom and free will - zealously so. Yet, she also really wants to save her friends. But, if she risks capture and is interrogated, she might be forced to give up the names and locations of up to three resistance cells that are fighting the evil government. Should I fight to the death? Surrender? Or maybe something more drastic - suicide or breaking my morals? It's a real quandary. Any thoughts?
So many options when you are down and out...I was looking for a place to vent after a 5 hour terrible night of abysmal roles. At some point you have to just laugh at the rediculousness of your situation and just go with it. In your case I would go all out. I say this as I had a night where I may have well just let my character go out in a blaze of non-glory...
Have you tried breaking down and begging the bounty hunter for help in exchange for your willing surrender and hope you can get away while he is occupied?

You only lose if you die. Any time else, there's opportunity for a come back.
The final decision is up to you. Fleeing, stealth, and follow the bounty hunter to his lair could be an option.
That said if the GM is sending a lvl 20 character to "capture" a bunch of lvl 9 characters, I think I hear the sound of the plot train "choo-choo-chooing" Surrender could give you the most future options.
