It’s a THIRD level slot. Have you even read the rules?
It is also a free action to use them so you still have your action and bonus action. Depending on your build there are numerous other options that you can be doing at the same time. An attack spell like blight would increase your damage output by another 8d8 on top of that 50-70 damage. There’s cone of cold, lightning bolt, stinking cloud, scorching ray, burning hands. You could healing word as a bonus action and make an attack with a cantrip, the stary druid could cast an attack spell and also fire an arrow with their bonus action. I mean come on mate. Comparing someone casting a level 3 spell (available to a 5th level character) and then doing nothing else for the rest of the fight to an 11th level paladin making multiple attacks and smites with a magical weapon and saying “the druid isn’t as good” is just plain stupidity. If your druid isn’t doing over 100hp damage per round then you’re just not using their abilities the way you should. This doesn't even include multi-classing. I played a cleric/druid mc and at level 9 my record was 204 damage in a single round, though that included a few critical hits.
A third level Conjure Animals velociraptors doesn't do 50 DPR for a level 10 party though. If you're using it as a blast DPR spell as a 10th level druid you are upcasting it to 5th level to get 16 velociraptors not just 8. Haven't you been following this thread at all? We are talking about a level 8-12 campaign!
Even at 3rd level you have 8 raptors all attacking the same target with advantage, that’s 16 attacks with advantage. Which is multiple crits and pretty much guaranteed hits if you are targeting selectively. 5 damage per bite and 4 per claw, thats 40+32 damage not including crits. Generally the double damage from the crits will counter the 1 or 2 misses. That’s a total of 72 damage ‘for free’ before the druid makes their own attack. Blight giving 8d8 for an average of another 40 damage. Putting our total up to 112 and we still have a bonus action and potentially a reaction as well. Upcasting with a level 5 slot at character level 9 means 16 raptors, and with a level 7 slot at character level 13 would be 24 raptors, doubling or even tripling their damage output. So tell me again how a character putting out over 100 single target damage round after round is only capable of being a support character…..

LOLOLOLOLOL What the in the Hells are you fighting where the +4 to hit from a velociraptor is giving you a 90% hit rate? The typical AC of a CR 10 monster is 17, and there are plenty with more than that. In reality you're looking a half that DPR if you're lucky. Most monsters are going to save vs Blight so again your expected DPR is half (or less) what you are claiming. Your raptors aren't lasting more than 1-2 rounds (if your DM even lets you have them in the first place, which again many do not), so you're spending 2x4th level slots + 1x3rd level slot for average DPR of ~50-60 (i.e. about the same as a typical the Barbarian using GWM without accounting for magical weapons, or a BB using Rogue).

The fact that your DM is making ALL the combats so woefully ill-prepared or boring that you can continuously do this tactics, that there's no AoE, no spellcaster that can "charm" them to where now all the velociraptors are attacking you, etc etc etc. Your DM is just plain bad. That campaign sounds awfully dull, and I cannot see the fun of it.

You know that saying about assuming things? I have been playing and running games for over 30 years mate. So unless you actually have a clue, keep your nonsense opinions to yourself.

This is incredibly off topic - please cut the arguments and stick to advice for OP (though they might've found their idea by now)
I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
