Well, best class in what way? Most useful in a party? Highest burst damage? There are so many "best" classes, you have to explain yourself more.

I'm just your everyday dungeon master. Ignore that jar full of souls. And those bones in the corner are just props, don't worry. I'm definitely NOT a lich. Definitely.
Yes, I like beholders. Yes, I curated an exquisite personality for commoner #2864. Yes, my catchphrase is "are you sure?"
What aspect of combat? Battlefield control? Single target damage? AoE damage? Tanking? Support? Healing?
I wouldn't want to go into a fight without all of those bases covered to some degree. And, of course, depending on the particulars of a given fight, the relative value of each of those facets will rise or fall.
Hello! Call me GAYto or Gato (Cat in Spanish) My pronouns are They/them I am a teenager. I have ADHD, Depression, and anxiety. I'm also Genderfluid, Pansexual, Aromantic, Trans Androgynous, and Asexual, but this community means the world to me; you cannot change that about me ALL HAIL O_MERLIN_O. 4D8 ATTEMPT:[roll]1d8[/roll] + [roll]1d8[/roll] + [roll]1d8[/roll] + [roll]1d8[/roll] = [roll][roll:-4]+[roll:-3]+[roll:-2]+[roll:-1][/roll] I have adopted Golden, Salem, and Aspen; they are my D&D children.
Another question. 2024(boooo!!)or 2014 (yayay!!)? Without that I’ve put my rankings based on14 rules
1(too good class too strong but fun to play wizard bard at high levels these are just absolute beasts and I would rather have a single level 14 wizard than a 3 level 4 classes)
2(very good class mostly spellcasters and very good martial cleric, paladin, fighter, warlock,* all of these classes have got good bases and some very questionable subclasses (cough cough twilight cleric cough) and are just absolute beasts in their utility and damage output. *If warlocks get their full 2 short rests plus even one extra from a rod of the pact keeper they can be great casters if not they can be a bit repetitive and not too strong. Example with no short rests 5th level warlocks have 2 spell slots. With 2 short rests and a pact of the rod keeper they have 7 3rd level slots)
3(middling-good class which usually has a very bad period balanced out by a couple of decent patches but all of these can suffer from game balance like short rests rogue,Druid, artificer, warlock, monk(short rests). Not much to say here between them they have quite a few decent subclasses and a lot of these get unfairly labelled as broken because of multiclass or just bad scaling (moon Druid, hexblade, crit fishing rogue champions) and this makes me sad that these get labelled broken. Monk gets put up here if it has short rests some things get fixed by more use but things like crappy scaling for damage die can’t be fixed)
4(below average class usually because of redundancy at high levels or just really bad dry spells ranger, barbarian sorcerer. This will be quite controversial for putting words down here but I find 6-9 to be thé worst dry spell for a class in the game because of metamagic. Ranger and barbarian are just kind of decent at what they do as long as you accept the ranger is not a huge damage dealer unless gloomstalker and that the barbarian can’t do out of combat
5(bad class design monk. Rubbish damage until high level where you are at best a half decent martial for your speed, too few ki points,SS is stupid in the way you have to use it to be effective and it’s weird)

And you run, and you run
To catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
And racingaround
To come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way
But you’re older
Shorter of Breath
And one day closer to death
