Im making this small blue fire elemental (mechanically fire genasi) character named Snuff with the personality of the star Lumalee from super mario movie known for saying pessimistic stuff optimistically.
Saying stuff like:
"I like you. You smell more flammable than the others.”
“Adventuring with you is the most fun I’ve had since that orphanage!”
“The flames are laughing. They say your turn will be spectacular
“Stand still! I want to study the burning!”
I want to lean more into he creepiness and unsettling idea more than the fire idea almost horror, Im leaning towards a Spell caster or Rouge. My inspiration for this is kinda GhostFreak from ben 10 but cute. Just sends chills up everyones skin, with secondary being fire. I was thinking Psi knife but am very unsure.
Please let me know what you think for a class and subclass. Also let me know if any feats would help (leaning towards magic innate if i pick a non caster). Hopfully i did alright explaining my vision, feel free to ask questions.
You definitely need a spell caster of some kind with a lot of fire spells. You could pretty easily pick Evocation wizard, or maybe arcane Trickster rogue?
For feats, Elemental Adept could be kind of nice to lean into that fire-based flavor.
Fiend warlock could fit, with the brimstone and all. This may sound a bit unconventional, but GOOlock could work as well. A person muttering nonsensical phrases about fire would probably fit with some unknowable horror.

Honestly, I would go Circle of the Land druid and focus on Arrid/fire spells (if you are playing 2024). This will allow you to customize the build as you advance. But I would probably take the Sage background and add two fire cantrips and a fire Level 1 spell just to fit the theme. If your DM has Tasha's, you can get Green Flame blade and use it with a Shillelagh . . . this would be a really strong option I think.
You could also go Genie Warlock if it is available and focus on fire spells.
If you are new to D&D though you might want to try an Eldritch Knight and just focus on fiery things.
Sounds like a fun concept.

Wildfire Druid could make sense.
Elemental adept feat (fire) would probably be a good choice, too, to really lean into the fire part.
Or maybe a draconic sorcerer with a fire type dragon lineage.
Fiend warlock could fit, with the brimstone and all. This may sound a bit unconventional, but GOOlock could work as well. A person muttering nonsensical phrases about fire would probably fit with some unknowable horror.
