Hello, This is my spell list i've been working on for my Level 9 Yaun-Ti Glamour bard Pirate character called Sy'rnn Silkfang. He is suppose to be based on... well the siren monster using his voice instead of an instrument. I wanted to focus on charm, illusion and storms spells. Tell me what you think am i being dumb or lacking.
Also would like some more strom spell but limited before level 10 by getting Secret magic. Which storm spells should i pick up and swap out when i get higher in level
Thats assuming youve got a cleric in the party or an npc cleric you can access for lesser/greater rez, revivify, raise dead. If not, bards can be cleric-lite builds.
The only reason I'd take Magic Initiate as a bard is to get Eldritch Blast and Hex. Then eldritch adept for AB. That solves the damage deficit.
Thought I feel it's better to take a 2 lvl warlock dip for that. If you take a hexblade dip, you can even main CHA, and drop dex to 14 to use medium armor. You'll be powerblasting while you're still a god damn bard. You'll have your bard slots and 2 lvl 1 warlock slots that you can use to hex. You use hex with the WL slots and drop them without thinking twice if you need to concentrate on something bigger.
Edit: so my advice is to take two levels of warlock and 1 level of bard upon creation. Take agonizing blast and repelling blast as incantations and save your feat for something cooler. You'll go bard the rest of the way and there are better picks for bard.
If you're unwilling to MC, take Magic Initiate for Eldritch Blast and either Hex or Armor of Agathys and on level 4 take eldritch adept for agonizing blast.
A blasting bard is a treat to play

It really does depend on who else is in your party and what they're playing.
