Avoiding my trigger.

I was watching recent DnD online play and think I’ve discovered a trigger to me: Fey. Not their appearance, but their actions.

I’m not sure how to best avoid this in the future. I have no idea if they will come up in my current game or future games, but I don’t want to feel like I’m getting unfair or special treatment.

It's almost always a good idea, when starting a new campaign, to have a "session zero" where the players and the DM discuss stuff like this (among other things). There's some good advice for it in chapter 1 of the 5.5e Dungeon Master's Guide (see here, particularly the part about "Hard and Soft Limits"). A good DM should also be happy to discuss it with you privately.

Ok, I’ll try to bring it up to my current DM privately and see what happens. We already had our session Zero, but we’ve gone through several gaps in time where we’ve had to skip multiple weeks, so it’s possible we may have a session re-zero at some point, but I don’t think I should wait until then anyway.

Also, the actions of the Fey in that online show may be completely different from the way they are portrayed by your DM.  Discuss the specific behaviors that cause you difficulty and I'm sure it will work out.
