So with way things set up here, I want to make spiked armor that is anti flanking armor. Where if a person tries to attack person wearing the armor from the sides or behind in melee combat, they take damage from the spikes. I tried adding description but it doesn't appear anywhere.
If you link the homebrew, a moderator will be able to help - you don't need to publish it, as moderators can view homebrew from links without them being published.
Also please let us know where are you expecting to see the description (that you don't currently see it)?

The item doesn't automatically add the description of any modifiers into the displayed content for the item.
This is by design as a DM may wish the homebrew text to describe the ability in a more interesting fashion.
You should go ahead and just add that text to the description of the item, as you want to explain it to anyone who uses the item.
