I am just looking at what items would be best for my Battlemaster Fighter...
Mostly looking for anything that people think are good as non-attuned, but if someone likes any attuned ones that are considered a must let me know too.
Beyond the usual thing of "any +1+ weapon/armor you can find is a direct upgrade", a lot of that is dependent on what your Battlemaster fighter actually does, how they fight, and what their goals are.
Items like theRing of Water Walking or Cloak of the Manta Ray allow the fighter to operate in terrain they normally can't, if they're not a sea elf or a triton or such. Boots of Elvenkind can, DM dependent, help counterweight the stealth disadvantage from common heavy armor types. Luckier fighters might end up with Mithral Armor and not need to care. There's a huge variety of utility items at common or uncommon rarity that are situationally useful to everybody like the Gem of Brightness, and most folks don't complain about expanded storage options like Handy Haversacks.
It's mostly up to what you, specifically, deem to be 'best' in terms of what you're looking for. Myself? Whenever I theorycraft a battlemaster it ends up being an archer, not a frontline meat tank; give my favorite Battlemaster the Boots of Elvenkind, the handy Haversack, Glamoured Studded Leather, and a few basic utility items and that particular character would be happy as a pig in slop. If your Battlemaster is a plate-wearing axe-swinging frontliner? You'll need a different set of items.
My Battlemaster is a upfront fighter, using a Glaive with PAM, GWM, and Sentinel feats (I know, really original)...I am a Tabaxi (with Darkvision)...
Currently, I have the Cloak of Arachnid, Ring of Regeneration, and Stone of Good Luck.... (am trying to get Belt of Giant Str but my DM is against that.)...
The carrying items are covered, I have a Bag of Holding, and the party has group Bag of Holding and a Portable Hole....(Party items also include Immovable Rod x2, Lantern of Revealing), Really just seeing what I could still use if anything out there was missed by me?
Ignore everything I said about utility items, traversal/exploration items, or all the rest of that. Basically ignore my last post completely. Fish for a +2 glaive and some +2 splint or +1 plate. Your DM looks to be super generous with magical gear, you should be fine just nabbing basic combat upgrades without issue.
Yes, I do have Mithril Plate as well, but can not get it magical... our world is wonky with how Magic is made or works...
I was originally thinking to dip into Rogue a bit, and the Mithril Plate was for that, but now sticking all fighter... so maybe looking for magical plate will be a good idea.
Thanks so much for the help, so other than arm/armor there are no real other non-attuned items needed.
Most non-attunement items, especially at lower rarities, do not significantly impact combat. Non-attunement items have utility benefits designed to improve exploration (i.e. allowing you access to places you'd normally have trouble getting to, or be completely unable to reach) or simply solving various forms of Adventuring problems. For a character focused exclusively and purely on combat, most of them are going to feel extraneous and unnecessary. They don't help you kill things and take their stuff, and so they won't feel like they're serving your interests as a combat monster.
My character is not just about killing, I envision a tactical military leader... he tries to lead the party, at least in combat but he does RP heavily.
But I appreciate your help, and advice... exactly what I was looking for.
A Bag of Beans is unpredictable, but almost always will create a very effective diversion once it goes off! As a character that may need a little extra help sneaking, being able to distract and misdirect the enemy patches that weakness, and can set up some truly masterful tactical ambushes
Bag of Tricks creates creatures that only require a Bonus Action to command. They're more useful in combat than they might appear, since they can take the Help action, or (depending on size) occupy squares to deny enemy positioning, or even provide Half- or Three-Quarters Cover to you and your allies. As a melee fighter with a Reach weapon, positioning a small or larger creature between you and your enemy for cover and body blocking can be useful sometimes if done correctly.
Bead of Force is incredibly useful and versatile. Disable enemies, protect allies, instant submarine, push creatures off of paths if they succeed or make them easily caryable if the fail... a giant weightless but impermeable beach ball of force on demand!
Bridle of Capturing to tame yourself an impressive steed! Why should Cavaliers have all the fun?
Broom of Flying to give yourself a fly speed. As a melee fighter, that can be important.
Cloak of the Manta Ray to give yourself a swim speed and ability to breathe water. As a melee fighter, that can be important (including the fact that it removes the Disadvantage you'd normally suffer underwater).
Clockwork Amulet can be helpful when you NEED to hit with a specific attack (in order to use a maneuver like Pushing Attack or something) and know that a 10 is good enough.
Daern's Instant Fortress, to expand your party's tactical options in the field, and because what kind of warlord doesn't want a fortress!?
Dimensional Shackles have more utility if someone in your party can inflict Incapacitated without having to knock targets unconscious (like a Monk, or a caster). Being able to take dangerous opponents captive (and keep em captive) opens up a lot of tactical roleplay.
I would also suggest Hammer of Thunderbolts, but since you can't get belt of giant strength, then you can't attune to it for it's super powerful ability (At least on giants.)

I am currently playing a Totem barb/Battlemaster fighter with shield master as I protect my group. I am the tank in other words. We were given a lot of gold and were told everything is available at max price ( according to rarity per DMG ) around level 7 so I went shopping.
I bought:
Bag of Holding, Cloak of Protection (A), goggle of night (dark vision since I am human) , Javelin of lightning ( this has been a great opener to battle ), Ring of water walking, Sentinel shield (this should be rare or higher), and winged boots (A) (never have problems with getting anywhere)
I want a Flametounge Longsword, Ring of Protection, Necklace of fireballs, spell scrolls, eyes of minute seeing (bump my investigation), Ioun stone, restorative ointment, periapt of wound closure, any manuals or tomes, and a dwarven thrower ( this is when i become captain america)

Gotcha. Combat monster frontliner. All right.

Master’s Amulet (with the linked Shield Guardian) if you just want to break the game
Items that a tactical mastermind/general might carry around, in no particular order other than alphabetical...
The list goes on, I love wondrous items :)

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
On my Battlemaster, I have found Ring of Free Action to be incredibly powerful, almost every game session. It does require attunement.
Why does almost everyone overlook the ring of defense? Sure, it only increases AC by 1, but that can make a big difference!

+4 weapon /armor...pure + items don’t require attunement. There’s no official +4 item, but they’re allowed in the dmg.
