REALLY enjoying the changes made to the Archfey Warlock.
Teleporting, teleporting and more TELEPORTING.
It really makes sense that a Warlock beholden to a mercurial Archfey would be capricious trickster themselves; flickering all over the map like a nuisance.
And all the tricks they add to their custom Misty Step are just really GOOD…psychic damage, invisibility, Temp HP, and a…Taunt mechanic?
…actually, I like that: it’s like giving the enemy the finger after you’ve BAMF’d away.
This whole subclass assumes that we love the “Misty Step” spell…and they’re pretty spot-on.
What’d y’all think about the changes?
Yeah, they took out the “per Short Rest” charm & fear effect, and the Dark Delirium…but honestly, those seemed pretty situational…

I prefer charm/fear at will. Misty step... ehhhh... people overestimate movement and underestimate having something simply unable to attack (or attacking for you)
Most of them are good, but the level 14 doesn't feel like a good capstone. The requirements mean that you can't even trigger it off Hex or Invocations, so I'm not sure just how much extra use it is when you'll already have 5 free casts by that point. I liked Dark Delirium because I gave you a very thematically on point control option to round things out.
I really liked dark delirium. And the new beguiling defense conflicts with misty escape because they both use a reaction but they are on different use number and different effects so I am good with it. Also misty escape got halved on its distance because misty step is 30 feet and misty escape was 60. The level 3 feature is massively better than the old level 1 just for the fact that it doesnt eat the whole action and still gets the caster to safety. I think if they just brought back DD I would be super happy.

I’d put that in the survey when it releases, then.
So far, there seems to be a good measure of adjustments from previous play tests; so some criticism is getting through.
I do like the new Archfey stuff. Especially the taunt on Misty Step. It basically forces the enemy to chase you around the battlefield for a while as you blast them back with Repellent Blast.

It could also work with someone using Armor of Agathys, pact of the blade to protect your allies and get them to focus you instead. Hey maybe you have blink at the same time and you blink out of existence and they just have disadvantage and can't target you.

agreed
fey presence was such a fun feature, especially for social intrigue style games. Not every subclass feature in existence needs to be combat focused
fey presence is a very fun feature. I want my feylcok to be a charmer/enchanter
it should have been expanded upon or improved, not removed entirely
I actually like it because it erases the overlap with my beloved Great Old One. It leaves the psychic theme to the GOO while giving the Archfey a new identity that fits it really well. Though it focuses too heavily on one spell, and level 10 and level 14 features feel somewhat lackluster.

Fey should be enchanting and charming and use illusions. They're the tricksters.
Old ones should be manipulating dimensions, causing insanity, and calling upon eldritch horrors which the words "moist" and "rubbery" should describe incredibly accurately..
Ha ha HA!

I’d say add Fey Presence back in at early levels, and provide a number of uses of “Misty Step” equal to Charisma modifier as a helpful bonus.
Then add the “enhancements” to the uses of Misty Step at the next subclass level…an upgrade of sorts.
If “Dark Delirium” turned out to be preferable to players, perhaps add that back in; with some extra nuance.
I’m sure there’s room to keep these awesome new features in some capacity; while retaining the old features people liked.
Nothing amidst either versions was wildly overpowered; so there’s no reason not to.
