I just bought the digital versions of the PHB, Outlander Background and the Wood Elf Magic Feat that is a part of Xanathar's Guide to Everything. I am a Level 9 Ranger using the Ranger Revised Rules. Am I losing it or am I not looking in the right place, is there not a way to add your companion via DND Beyond? I have all of the options selected and it even tells me that I gain my companion after lvl 3 but there seems to be no way that I can access a character sheet to input my companion. If this isn't a feature, please add the option to create your companion and to be able to toggle or tab back and forth in between the two of them (your character and companion). This is the most user friendly computer generated website/app I have used, but if I cannot create a profile within my Ranger profile for my beloved wolf Shaggy there really was no point in me spending the money I did. This is my longest character in the longest two plus year game I have played. I so just want to be able to transfer everything to digital. If there is any way the community can help me out or help me understand, I would greatly appreciate it.
Cool. Thanks filcat for the speedy response. That was very helpful for now. I hope they are working on those companions and familiars for those of us that use them. :)
Did this ever go anywhere? I just recently started using D&D Beyond, and I'm playing an 8th level UA Ranger (Revised) in our game. We just retooled to that recently, because we were led to believe that that was going to be a new official update to the Ranger class, but reading this forum, I'm getting the impression that that's not the case. So my question is: Is the UA Ranger (Revised) build likely to get added to D&D Beyond at some point?
I actually wound up building my companion by making a Homebrew monster, manually entering all the info., adding Initiative in the notes because there's no place for that, and then adding that to my character sheet under Creatures. So it's very manual (and I'll have to edit it by hand when any of the stats it depends on change), but I did get it done. However, the bigger issue to me is the lack of the proper abilities and text on my actual Ranger's character sheet.
(Of course, there's an argument to be made that if that version of the Ranger is indeed not going to be canon, and I only recently retooled for it, perhaps I should un-retool back to the canon class.)
Unfortunately, the UA Ranger (revised) is an archived playtest from Wizards of the Coast from three years ago. After reviewing feedback, they decided that this was not the direction to proceed.
Only current Unearthed Arcana content, from 1st January 2018 onwards, has been added to D&D Beyond.
As you found, the D&D Beyond character sheet does support adding creatures to your character sheet and you can homebrew those creatures to have whatever stats your game deems appropriate.

Thanks. That's about what I thought after reading all the related threads here. I'm torn between just going it as-is knowing that I can't fully give up my paper notes and retooling my Ranger back to using the core version so I can rely completely on D&D Beyond in gameplay, but I'll have to ponder that.
Any updates on this? I’d love a way to track my animal companion.
You can track your animal companion through the Extras tab on your ranger's character sheet. When you bring the Manage Extras sidebar open, select Beast Companion from the drop-down to easily filter available Beasts.

It is not currently possible, but it is a feature that is planned to add.
I added the companion as text in the notes (section Other). Not optimal, but for now is the most convenient way.

Adding animal companions and druid wildshape forms is something that is fairly high on the development list. :)
