Wow, they're really going all out on these subclasses! I saw a video where they've said they've covered the cliche/necessary archtypes now its time for crazy ones.. So far they're great! Xanathar 2 I can't wait!
The Herosim Paladin might just be the most protagonist protagonist to ever protagonist.
I do wonder how lenient most DMs will be with Undenyable Logic and a creature "that can hear you." The idea of arguing with the 0hp (and unconscious) fighter why he's not actually dying until he stands up ready to continue the fight just sounds too hilarious. Though I suppose you could just reskin Healing Word for that purpose...
FFS. Once again the poor bedraggled ranger gets ignored. If there are two classes in all of D&D that need no support whatsoever it’s the bard and paladin. Cheers Wizards.
Certainly a rapid succession of them! Near enough one UA every fortnight?
The paladin looks very interesting, with good spells and some potent effects - I wouldn't say unbalanced if only for the absence of an aura and the stacking up of reaction requirements, but definitely very appealing.
The bard is certainly unique, but I think it is so much at the mercy of DM discretion that mileage will vary dramatically e.g. it is reasonable to say that INT 1 monsters can understand you but lack any higher functions to engage players, or that Calm Emotions may cause indifference but indifferent guards won't just let players walk by and steal the crown jewels. I'd say Undeniable Logic as a save debuff is the feature that sells it, so suspect it will be a bit of a selfless 'pro' choice - not a bad niche by any means, but likely not a common or popular selection.
With all these recent UA subclass releases, it feels like they're gearing up for a new book of mostly subclasses - anyone else getting that vibe?
If the Eberron book weren't so close to release I'd conjecture that this was a set of options for the Eberron sourcebook. But another XgtE or SCAG type guide with more character options isn't exactly out of the realm of possibility.

They seem to be releasing pairs of subclasses in accordance to theme...
Barbarian + Monk = unarmored brawlers
Warlock + Sorcerer = odd casters
Paladin + Bard = inspiring charisma
...so I'd say that ranger + druids will be next, or at least together.

Unless it is druids + clerics and rangers + rogues.
The Sacred Oath Paladin might just be the most protagonist protagonist to ever protagonist.

I'd allow it, how many times in movies do we see someone giving CPR (failed Medicine check) then start shouting demanding they get up?
Then seconds later the person gasps and remarks on what was just said? That is like death scene cliche 101.
Both of these subclasses are pretty interesting concepts. Moving away from the spooky stuff from the last UA to more leader themed subclasses in this one.

The ever growing document of character concepts can never be too long, can it?

I’ll take whatever we can get. At this point we need a ‘grand unified solution’ for the ranger- by that I mean alternate core class features à la Mike Mearls’ work and something to address the very divisive Beast Master (I accept some people find it ok but many others don’t).
Barbarians - Barbarian from the mournlands or drawing power from the crazy energies of Xoriat.
Sorcerers - Dealkyr blooded
Warlocks - Aberration/Dealkyr/Quori PActs
Bards - Great for Inquisitive types or urban noir adventurers
Paladins - Stoic vanguards of the Last War, Those chosen by the sovereign host or the silver flame to create change.
I'd be a little surprised to not see them in the Eberron book, I think they are using Unearthed Arcana as more of a marketing piece than a playtest feature right now.

Canto alla vita
alla sua bellezza
ad ogni sua ferita
ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty
To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!
Oooo, Paladins with legendary resistance
When do these go live in the builder as playtest options? Any idea?

It usually takes less than a week.

Partway through the quest for absolute truth.
Thanks!

It struck me as very odd that the Heroism Oath has expeditious retreat as one of its oath spells. It's the least heroic spell ever!
These seem like great Eberron mappings.
Monks - Kalashtar/Quori builds.

Every time I've ever used that spell, it was to close distance and get up in an enemy's face.
