If you allow playtest material and sort by wgte content only four elf subraces come up as availible to play? Am I missing something or did they pull the rug out from under us? Is the only way I can play one of the wgte races by having a legacy character? If this is truly the case did we all get scammed into buying UA material with wgte because what did we really gain from buying rfltw?
I believe that anything that was updated in the book was made UA. Thus it was phased out. I saw somewhere that if you still want to use the races as found in WFGTE then you'll need to recreate it as homebrew. Its being treated like any other UA and has been removed. Brute and giant soul sorcerer were also apart of this update.
Sourcing of content. All of our content is sourced to a "primary" and can also be sourced to multiple "secondary" sources. We've been using this for quite a while and it's handy when, for example, the Ravnica book includes the Goblin race, that was already printed in Volo's Guide to Everything. In this case, as Eberron: Rising from the Last War defined new versions of the races (Changeling, Kalashtar, Warforged etc) we set that sourcebook as the primary source and have configured them with WGTE (Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron) as the secondary source. In practical terms, this makes almost zero difference - purchasing either book will grant you access to the races in it. It doesn't matter whether it's a primary or secondary source. It does however affect where the race is listed under, on the races page. This is something that we are currently looking at better ways of managing the display there. As you mention, it seems odd that races you own from purchasing WGTE don't appear under that sourcebook on the races page.
The previous content has been archived. This isn't a case of taking content away from people. The version of the races that appeared in the original version of WGTE were intended for community feedback, and were in fact released as Unearthed Arcana material for just that purpose. As a result of that feedback, those races have now been updated with new official abilities/features. As always, D&D Beyond presents the up-to-date versions of all published content, without requiring any user to re-purchase.
Hey Stormknight, does this mean that WGTE is now considered outdated? Because the old warforged is available in the book https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/wgte/races-of-eberron#Warforged but there is no option to select this older version from the character builder. I would be very happy to see both versions there (as there are 100500 elf types f.ex.). And generally, it would be cool if we had access to the archived UA stuff there too =( -_-"
This is a shame, because i think across the board I'd rather be playing with WGtE stuff than RftLW. A lot of the stuff seems to have been watered down to the point of losing some of its innate interest (also really don't like how they locked some of the Mark features behind spellcasting).
If possible, could we have a menu option to enable WGtE over RftLW? Because going through the homebrew editor and adding back in all the original dragon marks and changelings is going to take an annoying amount of time.

I hope that helps in terms of explaining!
The issue that I see with this way of doing the update, specifically for WGTE as it is an extremely special case, is that WGTE, even though it was UA, was Paid Content and now with the release of Eberron: Rising of the Last War people that paid for WGTE can no longer access in the character creator the versions of the races, feats, backgrounds. I understand that the races need to be updated as they are no longer UA technically, but since it was Paid Content is there no way that the WGTE versions could still be represented in the actual tools and not just as a source book to be referenced now?
You sure? Because when I hit that link it just takes me to the WGtE sourcebook page and not any version of the warforged. But I already own the Warforged separately so that may be it.
And the latest version of the PDF for Wayfarer's Guide that I downloaded from DriveThruRPG got updated to include the RftLW version of everything.
Yeah, this link specifically takes me to the warforged entry in WGTE, which still has the UA text for me. But if you already own RftLW on DDB, then it's unlikely you'd ever see anything UA-specific from WGTE on DDB now.

Hi there Elite_Zaur,
there are two things here!

Wizards of the Coast have just released the updated WGTE - we are in the process of updating the sourcebook on D&D Beyond to match!

The Warforged, Changelings, Kalashtar, Shifters, and all the dragonmarks in WGtE have all been updated to match the ones in RftLW.
DDB doesn't generally keep Unearthed Arcana versions available once they've been published.
This is a shame, because i think across the board I'd rather be playing with WGtE stuff than RftLW. A lot of the stuff seems to have been watered down to the point of losing some of its innate interest (also really don't like how they locked some of the Mark features behind spellcasting).

There are no WGTE versions.
Wayfarer's Guide got updated upon the release of Rising from the Last War so that all of the stats match.
All of everything that exists in both books is exactly the same.
The DDB link for Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron sourcebook still features the UA versions of the Eberron races like the warforged.
