Consider this language (please notice the underlined words):
Magic Resistance. The planetar has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Basing myself on UA's Mystic, I tried to come up with a psionic version for a psionic-heavy setting (Dark Sun):
Psionic Resistance. The guardian has advantage on saving throws against powers and other psionic effects.
I have scoured the Mystic's pdf for the one word that expresses what is the Mystic's equivalent to a spellcaster's spells, but to no avail. In the PHB we get to understand both cantrips and spells are spells, thus "spells" covers cantrips as well, hence the use of the word "spells" in Magic Resistance. In mirror-like fashion, the Mystic has talents and disciplines. So . . . what is the word that describes them both? "Powers", maybe?
The problem with adding "Psionic Resistance" is power creep. Without republishing every monster that should gain Psionic Resistance as monsters that now have Psionic Resistance, a new Psionic class could steamroll old monsters without Legendary Resistance simply because Psionic Resistance did not exist for old monsters.
I've seen this argument before in other forums and the argument is usually resolved with someone bringing up that "Psionics are in fact Magic even if they play off a different system". It's an answer I have mixed feelings with. On one hand it helps with future-proofing monsters but on the other hand it opens the door to all sorts of answers I, as a DM, like ruling Ki as also being magic.
* I'm aware that some DMs rule Ki as magic and maybe that actually might be RAW but I rule otherwise except in cases where Ki is used to cast actual spells.

Did I miss it in the pdf?
Disciplines or Talents are both the types of psionic abilities listed in the Mystic's UA.
This might be better.
Psionic Resistance. The guardian has advantage on saving throws against psionic disciplines, talents, and other psionic effects.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
Just consider psionics a "magical effect" for the sake of this stuff. It is still magic, after all.
I still do not know if Magic and Psionic should be super separate or not, as Dark Sun is special in that regard.
Works for me!
What about creatures that you only want resistant to psionic abilities, and not spells?
Psionic Resistance should be a thing in 5e, just to make it so you can have 2 separate abilities to give to different monsters.
I'm not sure if Psionics should be classified as magic, and I don't want to have to argue about it here, but there should be 2 different resistances.
