I, my half-orc fighter just reached its 3rd and became an Eldrich Knight so now I'm looking for some expert advices on good tactical use of Action Surge and also Weapon Bond (this latest looks cool to me but nobody is mentioning it)
Thanks a lot for any of your ideas and may your enemy always bleed
There's really only two practical combat uses to Weapon Bond: summoning a weapon that's inconvenient to carry around all day (e.g. a heavy crossbow) or returning a thrown weapon to your hand.
A good use of Action Surge is to knock an enemy prone first so you can score more attacks while it's down. Otherwise, just use it whenever you need to take two actions for whatever reason.
Both features are pretty straightforward. The only real nuance to Action Surge is the common misconception that you can't cast two noncantrips on the same turn. As long as you don't cast a bonus action spell, there's no restrictions to what spells you can cast.
Pretty much what InquisitiveCoder said. Using action surge to cast 2 spells is pretty powerful. Weapon bond is decent for role playing Kratos's Leviathan axe (except the artificer can do it better).
Another common action surge misconception is that it gives you a second bonus action. It does not.
