Does D&D Beyond usually do deals on these days? I want to buy some stuff but I'd like to know if I should wait to see a sale or if I should just purchase now.
I haven't seen anything that states if the Cyber Monday deal is any of the books, or just a selection of the books.
If it's any of the books, then Tasha's is definitely doing to be mine on Monday.
I believe all the books normally priced at $29.99 will be 1/3 off. Not 100% sure about Tasha's as that one's still very new, but I'd say there's a good chance.

So the Facebook page does say CyberMonday is their biggest sale of the year, but they did not state exactly what the sale will work. I'm guessing the 1/3 off deal is from prior cyber Mondays. I will confess I wouldn't mind seeing that ... though I also wouldn't mind the forum angst and gnashing of teeth that would result in the sale being 2 for 1 digital dice sets because 2020.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
I like the Cyber Monday deal as it enables me to purchase books I normally wouldn't. I pick up what I want when they are released but there are always a few that are meh and not worth it at normal price but a discount price would push it to making it worth it.
They have similar sales throughout the year but most of the time I miss them as they seem very random and only for a short amount of time.
Well December 1st is the Tuesday after Cyber Monday so it makes sense. Far as I know, it will be a 1 day sale only. I came here as well to see if they were already on sale since I also got a notification on FB but guess I have to wait until Monday.
I've only ever been a player but the group has asked me to DM The Curse of Strahd once our current campaign concludes. I bought Strahd during the halloween sale but somehow didn't realise I'd need the DMG and MM too lol - On a side note, do you lovely folk think it would be worthwhile to pick up Volo's as well?
So FB ad suggest that all books are $19.99 until Dec 1st. Prices are still listed as $29.99, even at checkout no discount? Seems a bit sly to me!
Clearly use the price in your shopping cart as the price at the moment. You are receiving notice for a Cyber Monday sale. Today is Friday. Keep your cart or empty it but check it out on Monday if you want to take advantage of the sale. The main site should clearly indicate that the sale is on. It's not uncommon for a retailer to announce the sale ahead of when it actually goes in place. It's not a sly move.

The DMG is a good read in my opinion, but it is entirely optional and there are better resources out there for free. If you think you are going to be a DM a lot, then I highly recommend getting the DMG as it is handy to have around as a reference. If being a DM is just a one time thing or very infrequent thing, then I recommend skipping it and just watch YouTube videos on being a DM and running the game.
I am not completely sure, but I believe if you bought COS on Beyond, you should have access to all the monsters featured in the book in Beyond database. Similar to the DMG, MM is entirely optional in my opinion and it is completely unnecessary. However, I still think it is a good sourcebook to have if cost is not a concern.

Yes, you will need DMG and MM to plug in all of the monsters and items digitally. If you can share your content with a Masters subscription you can even let them directly hold the items they might receive in the campaign.
As for your question about picking up Volo’s, any of the sourcebooks that add additional monsters or subclasses are good but I would focus on Xanathar’s, Tasha’s or Mordenkainans books first if you don’t have them. These books add a litany of subclasses and spells for your Players to choose from and Curse of Strahd will already have plenty of its own enemies for you to insert.

I would say that you should get Xanathar's first. It's by far one of the best sourcebooks that's been released. After that, you should probably get Volo's, but only if you are willing to spend that much money.

Xanathar's is great for players, not necessarily for DMs. Any player that has Xanathar's can use it in a campaign and the DM will be able to see the relevant info even if he doesn't have that book. So, get Xanathar's for yourself if you want to (I definitely recommend it as a sourcebook) but if you are prioritizing your budget for DM resources other books might be better.

Thanks for all the input guys! I already have XGTE just to get access to a bunch of spells for my bard lol @xxxGammaRay, you make a great point about frequency. I'll see how good the deal is tomorrow and we'll see if I can curb my nerdiness lol
Well, I was hoping the bundles would have a good 30-40% discount code, but it looks like a brief one during labor day was the only time that happened. It has the 25% off, but that's not near enough to push me toward a bundle, yet I ALSO don't want to buy single books knowing the bundle is out there. I've been holding off buying anything for a year because of this, ugh.
The books you buy get removed from the bundles pricing though (not 100% sure on the calculations used for it though as i'm not sure what the bundles original savings were).

I don't know which ad you've seen, but the only FB ad I know of says "Cyber Monday sale". That suggests, to me at least, the sale is on Monday.
