Hello all, I'm quite new at this and will be playing in my first campaign soon. In the past I've created an Artificer with the character creator tool (using UA I think) but I understand now with the new sourcebooks that doesn't seem possible without purchasing said source. My question is how/where do I purchase just the class on its own, if I purchase all the subclasses from Tasha's Cauldron will that give me access to the artificer entirely? Thank you for any and all information.
Yes, if you purchase even one of the artificer subclasses, that gives you access to the artificer, although only to the subclass(es) you purchased. And I do believe that those can be purchased individually from tashas. Note that to use artificer spells which are not part of the free content (some are, some aren't) and to use infusions that create magic items that are not part of the free content (some are, some aren't), you will need to purchase those separately as well, or homebrew them.

Buying any subclass will unlock the Artificer base class. You only need to buy one, though obviously you can choose to buy several or all as well.
Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
