I've just set up the works on here. All the core books, Volo's, XtGE, and Master Tier sub. Created a campaign on the website, assigned sheets to my players and they've filled them all out.
I open my iPad app, hoping to have all of their information at my fingertips for DMing at the table, and nothing is there. Just the books I purchased. No content besides that.
The mobile app is still in the beta version, and for this release only the compendium section is available. Other sections of DDB (character builder, listings, campaigns...) will be available in future releases.
I take it you don't have wifi where you play? If you have wifi (or a mobile hotspot) you can use the iPad's browser to access the DDB website.
Here on the forums they've been pretty clear that the app is in beta. I looked up the app description on the iOS app store earlier today, and they aren't as clear there, although the official description doesn't list any features other than compendium access.
Yeah, I figured that workaround out. Not as convenient, but works. I haven't been on the forums since Beta, so hadn't realized and just assumed. Thanks for the info guys. Looking forward to it finally being released!
Thanks, went ahead and bought the core books to be able to share to my players so hopefully the things I want in the app come to fruition sooner rather than later...another year plus ;)

What am I missing?

Ugh. Well that was a waste. Any ideas when it will release? The whole point was for me to be able to have my party's character sheets handy. :(

Beta for 2 years? This isn’t NASA going to the moon. Let’s get the things people want finished please.
You can find the status of updates and what they are working on on the roadmap forum and link in the forums.

You can login on the site using a browser. That way you can even open more tabs for monsters, maps, info etc.
Pretty insane that in 3 years they haven't added the campaign tab to the app or many other features for that matter. Would be really useful.
