in the past i have been able to buy races and classes separately for 1.99 on the website and through the app. but know when i go into the market place to where i normally buy stuff its all completely https://routerlogin.uno/ changed and can no longer buy stuff separately. is there an explanation for this? and is it just me?
This very unfortunate. Being able to buy only what you want was a major draw to this website. If I can’t do that I’d rather buy digital content that I can easily add to Kindle or Books.
If WotC knows the players are willing to pay more PC species then we could see more titles style "Moderkainen Monster of Multiverse", about new monsters and PC species.
I understand both the frustration and the probable reasons WOTC discontinued it. With the new books coming out, everything would have to be redone, new code written while they have other efforts going on, etc. They may also have found that DM sharing books was much more used and preferred, and the amount of effort to provide microtransactions was not worth the maintenance, implementation, etc. No other company has jumped onto this idea, either, so WOTC probably found out what other companies that considered offering them already knew -- it was not worth it in terms of effort and cost.
Yep, and they pretty much succeeded. The Digital editions are badly overpriced. I'd be willing to pay $2.00 for a single race, but I"m not doing, say, $30 for stuff I don't need/want. It's bad business. The only reason I keep this is it's a convenient tool for DM's, but honestly, there are generic templates on other sites that can serve the purpose. Convenience is one thing, but these prices + increased restriction (further price increases) just turn paying subscribers off. (Possibly into non-subscribers...)
The marketplace has completely removed individual purchases as part of a controversial redesign. See this article for more information.
Wow looks like I avoided the bullet on that one. I was going to buy a subclass, but then remembered not all of the feats, tools etc are free, and probably would have spend more on those individual items, so I decided to buy the online PHB instead.

Good decision.
Save for the fact that when piecemeal was available all partial purchases were credited towards the cost of the book, and when they actually honored what they advertised, money spent was taken off of the sale pricing too. While I have no issue with the removal of piecemeal the theft of the legacy bundle et al discounts stacking with sale discounts is criminal!

Another absolute garbage decision by WOTC in pursuit of profit at the expense of the user experience.

So disgusted at this. Are they -trying- to alienate their consumer base?
