I'd like to ask about how the shared content works here on D&D Beyond. I have purchased all the player sourcebooks and Wild Beyond the Witchlight which I plan to run soon. Since the content is shared once players join a campaign I have setup, does this mean that they can simply just click on the link to the book page and read through it themselves? Is there a way in which I can allow players to have race/backgrounds options etc in the character creation but not provide them access so they can just read the book ahead of the sessions? Thanks
Unfortunately not. The best method is to just tell your players not to read the book at all, which, if they respect the game, they won't. And if they do, well you know to not play with them again after you give them the boot.
-content is only shared if someone in the campaign has a master tier subscription and turns on content sharing. Since you didn’t mention a sub in your OP, I wasn’t sure if you knew that
-when content sharing is enabled in a campaign, the DM can then manage what is shared, on a book by book basis. So you can turn off Wild Beyond the Witchlight and they won’t be able to read the adventure. Note that turning a book off only turns off compendium content (the “pages” of the book). Players can still access player options (races, subclasses, feats, magic items, etc.) in the builder and character sheet.
I got a question similar to this if I wasn't the DM, but the one with enough money to buy the books and subscriptions would I be able to share with the DM and the rest of the party members, I would feel bad buying content that no one else could use and not even the DM can access but the lack of free content gives very little choices.

Anyone in the campaign can enable content sharing if they have a Master tier subscription. It doesn't have to be the DM. There will be a button when viewing the campaign if you do have such a subscription. It also doesn't matter who owns the books or content, everything owned by anyone with a character in the campaign or by the campaign owner will be shared (with the DM able to block compendium content on a case by case basis if so desired).

Ah, shame, I suppose I can put trust in my players but I'm sure it'll be fairly noticeable if they did read ahead!
A few clarifications:

That is extremely useful information to know! Weird that there's not a bigger FAQ on the subscriptions page.
