Hey everyone, please vote and comment a short description why you chose that class. I like the artificer because they can create magic items and weapons and my first-ever character is an artificer.

Moved from Homebrew & House Rules
Every time I create a new character, I kind of have to resist the urge to play as a Bard. It's a great dynamic class... it has different subclasses to satisfy all kinds of different playstyles, and the focus on Charisma makes the class great for roleplay as well. The choice of Expertises also helps to make a character that specializes in the features you want your character to really excel in... it's easy to just put your expertise in Persuasion or Deception, but you can still be an expert in Animal Handling, or Acrobatics, or whatever else you want to be really great at. I think it's also generally easier to play as a class that just has Spells Known instead of needing to prepare spells.
My go-to class if I can't think of another one to play is warlock. They are extremely versatile... damage dealer, "face", healer, support.... all depending on the patron/pact you take.
My favorite class is the Sorcerer, as I enjoy the theme of the class and tend to enjoy picking spells that I can synergies with my meta magic to create a specialist caster. Last Sorcerer was a Storm Sorcerer with lightning and thunder damaging spells, spells that simulate weather effects, and teleport spells.

Bard is my favorite. I like the jack of all trades master of none generalist playstyle and I like the skill-monkey aspects and also kinda being a know-it-all (disappointed that bardic knowledge is missing from 5e) and a defacto historian/lorekeeper etc. In all honesty, it helps as an excuse for why I'd know something that might otherwise be considered metagame knowledge.

Thank you for your time and please have a very pleasant day.
Do keep in mind I did not include the artificer in mine though.
As for your post I chose Bard. You’re a spellcaster that’s good at checks and has a lot of flexibility between playing utility, support, and as a blaster. I’m not really a fan of the valor or swords bard but to each their own.
My personal favorite, as far as style and lore goes, is certainly artificer, with armorer being my favorite subclass when it comes to single class characters and those with only a few levels in other classes. Battlesmith is my favorite when combined with bladesinger wizard. I like the concept of the steampunk inventor, even though other people may change that appearance, if it doesn't fit their settings.

It has been a long time since I used a class without reflavoring the whole thing to use the mechanics of a specific class (for mechanical purposes) with no specific class identity (for roleplay purposes).
It's a different view of the classes when you remove the descriptions from the mechanics and label them something else. Distill the math and numbers out of the lore and add your own lore for those values. It's amazing how the perception of the actions changes with wording.
I urge people to try it for a while and see if they shift their favorite to a different mechanical class.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
When I first started out, my favorite was the Monk. At this point, I still have not had a chance to try all of the classes out, but I think my current ranking would be
Favorite Full Martial: Barbarian
Favorite Half-Caster: Artificer (close tossup with Paladin)
Favorite Full Caster: Bard
Two of my last few characters have been Barbarians, so that is what I am putting for the poll

My favorite class is the druid. the combination of full casting and wild shape, especially with the moon druid's elemental wild shape, can be really powerful and fun to play.
This is a tough question for me because I really like the Sorcerer and the Monk, but that's more because of the potential I see in the classes, rather then reality of the. So naturally I answered Barbarian.
Also I am shocked the Druid is in the lead right now, something about that class perturbs me.
My favorite is "whatever best fits the character concept I currently have rattling around in my head"

Active characters:
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
barbarian, I've played as 2 of them and enjoyed both very much - Malth Borla, a bear who was reborn as a human after the odin-like god of the dwarves found him fallen on a battlefield, and Thoruk, the Duck Slayer, who is by far the most chaotic individual you could hope for.
Warlock, I am thoroughly enjoying my first foray into proper spellcasting, and my hedgehog warlock in our humblewood game is very fun to play as, though it's been mostly roleplay so far!
Artificer, I enjoyed playing Gizmo. And having a walking cannon and a haemonculus called Hammy who is a pot bellid lizard made out of pots (who can turn things it's swallowed into soup if you say "soup", which has it's ups and downs) is good fun. I probably have more fun roleplaying Hammy than Gizmo!
Bard, I have been playing a sword bard for a campaign, and it is fun to play, though it hasn't really shone just yet.
Rogue. I only played one, and it was not a fun character - a grouchy edgelord walking cliche who I killed off after his first excursion because I just didn't enjoy playing him.
This all said, every one of these came down to the roleplay aspect rather than their class!
I’ll always have a soft spot for the ranger but when I need to decide I have to go with the sorcerer. Charisma is more useful as a stat than intelligence and metamagic is just a blast to use when creating combos and unique effects no other spell caster can create. The saving throws and bulkier hit did make them easier to play in the beginning than a wizard too. Even if at the end of a game the wizard will most likely be stronger.
If Human Crown Paladin/Order Cleric/Swashbuckler Rogue; Siamorphe follower, Knight of Silver Chalice (Knight of the Order/soldier) Either from Waterdeep or from Tethyr. (urban+dungeon)
If Halfelf Devotion Paladin/Life Cleric; Lurue Follower, Knight of Unicorn (Knight of the Order/Soldier) or Noble, either from Silverymoon or Baldur's Gate(small chance of Leilon) (Urban+dungeon, heavy healing alternatively you can take 2-3 stars druid levels instead of paladin if you want a pure healer build)
If Wood Elf Scout Rogue/Fighter Samurai/Monk Kensei/Ranger Gloom Stalker; Solonor Thelandira&Shevarash follower, Silent Rain member (mercenary/soldier) Either from around Evereska or from Wealdath/Tethyr (Versatile, survivalist) (If you want more dps, assasin might change with scout, making prime deity Shevarash rather than Solonor, but i kinda dislike it)
If High Elf Wizard Bladesinger/Fighter Samurai/Bard Sword/Monk Kensei; Corellon Larethian& Tethrin Veralde follower, Harper member (faction agent) or Knight of Myth Drannor (Knight of the Order/soldier) Either from Silverymoon, Cormanthor or Evermeet (Versatile, Jack of all trades master of none) (unlike other builds this one requires too high as, depending on as build can change, but tbh this build should only be played with heroic as)
If Mountain Dwarf probably some form of traditional barbarian fighter(brewing) Hanseath follower Soldier either from cliche Mithral Hall or maybe from Misty Lake/Almorel, for shield dwarfs probably a tanky cleric of forge(Moradin)(smith) clan crafter, preferably from Clan Ironstar or Siremun Kingdom to the East for a bit of exotic touch.
Top are cliche yet fun builds, but i'd rather go for Rowdy tavern brawler who prefers using fists possbily a fighter with a single level of barbarian who takes on adventuring to save money for starting his own tavern one day...
If adventure demands for topnotch heroic characters to fight evil rather than sandbox play, something like Aasimar Divine Soul Sorceror or Devotion Paladin i guess...Still it would probably suck to be either angelic or demonic, i am more contend roleplaying with common races. Especially human, halfelf, woodelf builds above.(my favorite 3 i guess)

Fighter, because I'm basic. Also I like the idea of a regular dude who slowly see's more and more shit and is just rolling with it.

Ranger - a solid all around class capable of enough of everything that they actually can solo but are also great role players in a team.
