It is a banner ad and a post on the main off - those are pushed to everyone, and there probably isn’t a built in toggle to selectively push the message to only those who are not subscribed.
This kind of thing is pretty common. I think you are reading far too much into a blanket message.
Why would they punish somebody for giving them money?
I don't understand your way of thinking here.

I think the confusion is that someone might think only the free-trial subs get the exclusive frames this month. That's a valid reading of the specific language used. It is not, however, a correct reading. They're just saying that you get the normal monthly subscriber bonus for whichever month you free-trial in.
No. DD&B and WotC wouldn't "punish" you for not giving them money. Anyways, it's not like you can't use the free trial after your sub expires if you have trouble renewing it.

I think the OP is going on the idea that they did not get the free frames because they are already a subscriber so they are wondering if they are getting ripped off

The free frames are not exclusive to the subscription trial - they are the regular monthly subscriber perk. Regardless of how you effectuate your March subscription - paid membership or the free trial - you will still receive these frames.

The main page is advertising "Get a 30-day free subscription trial now and unlock exclusive frames this month" as if I'm not subscribed, but I never stopped being subscribed. Is this just intentional shade for being a dedicated fan instead of joining the hate train?

Are the fish in the aquarium really complaining that the fish in the pond are getting hooked with yummy looking bait?
