Ok first question is: can we put books that are already owned onto our profiles? If so how do we go about it? And once that is done and the one that has them on can share them with those he or she are DMing for in a campaign? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean "Can I add print books I own to my DDB account?"
If so, no. There's no way to limit adding an existing book to only one account. (Nor do WotC seem inclined to make it possible to do so with future books. There are many extensive threads arguing this topic.)
If there's stuff you want, you need to either buy the DDB version of the book, buy the individual things you want, or use the homebrew tools to recreate them.

If you get a master-level subscription, you can turn on content sharing for a campaign, and everyone's books are shared within that campaign.
Your homebrew collection is also shared in campaigns, even without content sharing. (I think.)
ok what if you have the hard copies of the books? My husband actual has several books for d and d but is unsure but has heard about the possibilities of adding them on here. Although doesn't know if it is true or not, though if true doesn't know how to.

As jl8e has said, you can’t. This FAQ has a good explanation as to why.

You cannot. (I answered in more detail above.)
