It has to be. That is what I though. and if it is Homebrew is should be the next level of Item (rarity) since a Ring of Greater Protection is "Rare" Agree?
No item called "Ring of Greater Protection" exists in official 5th Edition D&D.
The Cloak of Protection is an Uncommon rarity item for +1 to AC and Saving Throws. There is also the Ring of Protection which does the exact same thing but is Rare in rarity. The reason for this is because items of a different name stack together and by having it rare means you are not stacking the bonuses too early in the game.
If we were to continue the theme for homebrewing and to keep the game balance: I'd make a Necklace of Protection at Very Rare quality that does the same thing.

I appreciate your response. Thank You. Broken...come on! Lol! I see the Cloak of Protection Wonderous Item, uncommon ( requires attunement). I read that as the it is "Wonderous" Item which is that above ( more difficult to "come across) than a Rare item like the Ring of Protection. I know if comes down the the DM running the adventure and what their ruling is. I do believe and I am checking with the DM that their adventure rule states 2 rare and 3 uncommon that One ring of Protection is rare item #1 and Superior Healing Poteion is rare item #2. The three uncommon items are a +1 Scimitar and a Mithral Plate and a Potion of Greater healing.
Greater Ring of Protection: Ring, Rare (requires attunement by a +2 bonus to AC and Saving Throws) [Rare? I know the Ring of Protection is Rare - this should be Very Rare, if it was up to me]

Attunement slots are very nonlinear. I'd probably put it at Legendary.
Yep :) We are on the same page. I knew that there was no "official" Ring of Greater Protection I have just completed discussing with my DM - I have this homebrew item which I think is not correct (being the Ring of Greater Protection). The DM agreed with me that #1) Yes it should be Very Rare and #2) Nope - I cannot have it. I then texted my fellow player and said this is on you now :D I do not care anymore going further. Thank you all of you on this post.
Sounds like an homebrew next level upgrade to the DMG version of RoP. Should have been Attuneable, Very Rare, and a resistance to one of the types given from the DMG version.
( Edit: Resistance is added after the upgrade to +3, and item considered Legendary, IMO )
What content or setting am I not seeing to find a Ring of Greater Protection? Would that be a "Very Rare" item as well? Thank you all.
That's not a 5e item.
Could be homebrew?

Sorry. It is not my item. It was shown to me by a fellow adventurer who must somehow have it their homebrew. Attaching/embedding an image not working in Fireox for me >:( Here is a shared Google Drive link to Snip and Sketch .jpg file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V7VupTq5M4i75jIjoR1Deql7-ec9Iv8m/view?usp=sharing
Here the Description as provided to me.
