There has been A LOT of discussion about giving healing potions or other healing items to unconscious PCs. But what about those that are still awake? Can you shove a healing muffin into a companions mouth? Can you splash a healing potion on a friend if they are still on their feet?

Actually, as written you can administer potions to other characters with your action (DMG 139); the rules don't actually specify that the subject needs to be unconscious.
"Potions are consumable magic items. Drinking a potion or administering a potion to another character requires an action. Applying an oil might take longer, as specified in its description. Once used, a potion takes effect immediately, and it is used up."
