First off I will apologize for the post if it is in the wrong place. I saw something to about new download for Return to Baldur's Gate on Facebook on my phone and I tried to download it and it failed. When I got home from work to try to download it again, I can't find it anywhere. Was it a hoax or just can't find the link. Can someone throw me a bone please?
Firstly, you shouldn't trust links from Facebook or most social media unless you know 100% certain it is from an official account you trust.
As for "Return to Baldur's Gate" there's nothing called this in the sources on this website. The closest is the book Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus but this requires a purchase and would not be something you can download for free.
So my wager is on "hoax".

Googling it, and the only direct hit is the title of a chapter of an Actual Play, so I'm going to guess scam.
I would never directly use any ad from FB. If it seems legit, I'd go indirectly. For instance, I saw an ad from Free League for the Vaesen CRB PDF for free. I didn't follow the ad though - I Googled it and found it directly from FL. I still didn't go through the ad, because it could still be a scammer that saw the offer and spoofed it.
Don't trust FB ads. Anyone can advertise there and that means enough of the the ads will be a scam.
